Olatunbosun “Bosun” Tijani is a renowned Nigerian-British technology entrepreneur, innovation ecosystem builder, academic, and public servant. He was born on July 20, 1977, in Agege, Lagos State, Nigeria, and grew up in Lagos before moving to Abeokuta, Ogun State, for his secondary education. He holds dual Nigerian and British nationality.

Bosun’s academic journey reflects a strong blend of technology, management, and innovation, beginning with a Diploma in Computer Science, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Jos in 2002, an MSc in Information Systems and Management from Warwick Business School in 2007, and a PhD in Innovation and Economic Development from the University of Leicester in 2023, where his research focused on how innovation ecosystems drive economic growth in developing countries.

He also completed executive programmes at Harvard Kennedy School and Stanford University, including the Innovation for Economic Development programme and the Draper Hills Fellowship. Before founding his own ventures, he worked with major global institutions such as the International Trade Centre (UNCTAD/WTO), Hewlett-Packard, and Pera Innovation Network in the UK, contributing to trade development, digital learning, and innovation coordination across Africa and Europe.

In 2010, he co-founded Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB), Nigeria’s first open innovation centre, which under his leadership grew into a pan-African technology powerhouse with operations across several countries and support for startups in fintech, healthcare, education, civic tech, and social innovation, alongside ventures such as Truppr, Growth Capital, and STEM Cafe.

In August 2023, he was appointed Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, where he now leads national strategies on digital infrastructure, broadband, cybersecurity, and innovation policy. Widely recognised as one of Africa’s most influential tech leaders, Bosun Tijani is credited with shaping Nigeria’s technology ecosystem while balancing public service with entrepreneurship, research, and community development, and he lives between Abuja, Nigeria, and Leicester, UK with his wife Moji and their three children.
