Daniel Wilson Addo is a Ghanaian banker, chartered accountant, financial executive, and business leader with more than three decades of experience across banking and finance. He is particularly recognized for his leadership of Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG), where he served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer from 2018 until his exit in 2025.

Addo began his professional career at KPMG after graduating from the Institute of Professional Studies, now the University of Professional Studies, Accra. He subsequently developed extensive experience across Ghana’s financial sector, working with institutions including Standard Chartered Bank, United Bank for Africa (UBA), and First Atlantic Bank.

At UBA, Addo held several senior positions, including Deputy Managing Director of UBA Ghana and Managing Director of UBA Tanzania. He later became Executive Director of First Atlantic Bank, building a reputation for strategic management, business development, and banking transformation.

In August 2018, Addo became the first Managing Director and CEO of Consolidated Bank Ghana following the establishment of the institution during Ghana’s banking-sector restructuring. He played an important role in integrating the operations of banks transferred to CBG and in stabilizing and developing the institution.

His leadership also emphasized support for small and medium-sized enterprises. CBG’s initiatives under his tenure included efforts to provide innovative products and differentiated services for MSMEs, while the bank promoted digitalization as a means of improving access to financial services and business support.

Daniel Addo holds an MBA in Finance from Manchester Business School and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers Ghana. He has also served on the boards of organizations including Hollard Ghana Holdings and Mobus Properties and participated in the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council’s Global Advisory Council.

His achievements have earned him recognition within Ghana’s business and banking community. In 2020, he was named the Most Respected CEO of a state-owned bank at the Ghana Industry CEOs’ Awards, and he was also recognized as the CIMG Marketing Man of the Year 2021.

Although primarily a banking executive rather than a fintech founder, Addo’s career is highly relevant to Africa’s evolving fintech ecosystem because of his work at the intersection of traditional banking, digital financial services, SME financing, and financial-sector transformation.
