The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has appointed Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke (Davido) as Chairman of Youth Mobilisation, alongside Kayode Adeshina Isaq, popularly known as Olododo, who will serve as Vice Chairman, for his 2026 re-election campaign council.

The appointments, announced on Tuesday, are part of preparations for the forthcoming Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 2026, where the incumbent governor is seeking a second term under the platform of the Accord Party.

Davido, who is the nephew of the governor and a prominent supporter of his political journey, confirmed his role earlier, stating that he had been tasked with leading youth-focused mobilisation efforts for the campaign.

“Davido has been appointed by the Governor of Osun State… as Head of Youth Mobilisation of the Campaign Council. We look forward to a smooth campaign and free & fair re-election,” a supporter of the party shared this on social media.

The inclusion of Kayode Adeshina Isaq (Olododo) as Vice Chairman is expected to further strengthen grassroots coordination and youth engagement across the state, as political activities intensify ahead of the polls.

Governor Adeleke, who has been in office since 2022, is positioning his campaign to consolidate support among young voters; a demographic seen as crucial to electoral success in the state.

Political analysts note that Davido’s massive influence, particularly among Nigerian youths and in the diaspora, could play a significant role in energising the campaign and boosting voter turnout.

The development signals an early start to strategic mobilization efforts by the governor’s camp as parties gear up for what is expected to be a keenly contested election in Osun State.
