The Ultimate Awards 2024 has announced its list of nominees for the West Africa Top 10 Art & Culture Game Changers, and among the names drawing significant attention is Nigerian-based photographer and creative advocate, Jolaoluwa Victor Ajayi, who has been shortlisted for the Best Photographer of the Year award.

The announcement, made via an official nomination letter signed by Dr. Seun Olatunji, Founder and Project Director of The Ultimate Awards, confirms that Ajayi’s nomination was driven by what organisers described as “outstanding contributions to art and culture through photography, community engagement, and creative mentorship.”

The award ceremony is scheduled to hold on Sunday, September 15, 2024, in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.

What the Nomination Covers
According to the organisers, Ajayi’s recognition is rooted in three distinct pillars of impact: his work in visual storytelling, his grassroots creative advocacy, and his role in mentoring emerging photographers. The Ultimate Awards noted that his body of work has been “vital in preserving cultural narratives, amplifying local voices, and expanding access to artistic expression across communities in Southern Nigeria.”
