Ndidi Nwuneli is one of Nigeria’s most respected social entrepreneurs and education leaders, a visionary who has spent over two decades empowering young Africans to lead with integrity, purpose, and impact. Born on March 22, 1975, in Enugu, Nigeria, she grew up in a family that valued learning and service. After completing her undergraduate studies with honours at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, she went on to earn an MBA from Harvard Business School. These academic foundations, combined with early work as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, shaped her belief in the power of leadership to transform societies.
In 2002, Ndidi founded LEAP Africa; Leadership, Effectiveness, Accountability and Professionalism with a mission to inspire, equip, and empower a new cadre of ethical and dynamic young leaders across the continent. Through its leadership training, coaching programmes, and community engagement, LEAP Africa has helped thousands of youth, entrepreneurs, and managers build the confidence and skills needed to create positive change in their communities. Ndidi’s work didn’t stop there. She also co-founded AACE Foods, an indigenous food processing company; Sahel Consulting Agriculture & Nutrition Ltd., a firm helping shape agribusiness and nutrition systems; and African Food Changemakers, a community supporting food entrepreneurs across Africa.
Ndidi Nwuneli’s influence extends far beyond entrepreneurship and leadership training. She has served on numerous global boards, including the Rockefeller Foundation and Stanbic IBTC Group, and has been recognized internationally as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. She is also an accomplished author, having written Social Innovation in Africa: A Practical Guide for Scaling Impact and Food Entrepreneurs in Africa: Scaling Resilient Agriculture Businesses. Her journey shows young Africans that true leadership combines courage, continuous learning, and a commitment to serving others and that investing in people is one of the most powerful ways to build a thriving continent.
